Deleting your account

How to delete your CareRing account and server data, and what is deleted and what stays.

An account is created only when you sign in for family sharing. If you use CareRing on your own, there is no account on the server, and deleting the app removes all your data.

Delete it in the app

  1. Open CareRing and tap the people button at the top right (Family).
  2. Tap Delete account near the bottom of the Family screen.
  3. Read the notice and confirm once more.

To keep a copy first, use Export my records on the My medicines screen (the medicine button at the top right).

If you can’t use the app

Email [email protected] with the subject “Account deletion request”. If you signed in with Google, send it from that account’s email so we can confirm it’s you. If you signed in with Apple, CareRing never receives your email, so we can’t confirm it by mail: reinstall the app, sign in with the same Apple account and delete it there. We handle it within 7 days and reply with the result. Please don’t include health information.

What is deleted

  • Account details (user ID, email)
  • Dose records, scheduled times and shared medicine names on the server
  • Sharing consents, account activity, alert settings and push tokens
  • Your family group membership. If others remain in a group you created, it passes to them; if you were alone, the group is deleted too.

What stays, and for how long

  • Server backups: deleted automatically within 7 days.
  • Your records on a family member’s phone: removed the next time that phone connects, and locked after 24 hours even if it doesn’t.
  • Medicines and records on your own phone: they stay, separate from the account. Deleting the app removes them.
  • Operations log: only the date handled and the user ID, never record contents.
